Termites, Termites, Oh My!

Welcome and today we are talking about TERMITES!

There are actually many different types of termites, but for today we will only talk about Subterranean Termites (these are the ones that you'll see in your home most of the time down here in the Rio Grande Valley).

The number one important thing that here at MID VALLEY PEST CONTROL try to protect, is your home.  You made an investment to purchase a beautiful home, so why are you going to let Subterranean Termites take control?  Here are some basic information on how to spot if you have termites:

Subterranean Termites create "mud tubes" on the outside of your home and inside of your home leading up to the ceiling at times (this is for them to gain access on food, which if untreated can create a colony up to 2 million or more), they can also be around the bathroom (contact with water and soil)
Worker Subterranean Termites (Cream-Yellow Color):  1/8 to 3/8 of an inch
Soldier Subterranean Termites (Cream Color with Brown heads):  About the same size as Work S.T.

Reproductive Subterranean Termites:  1 inch long
Subterranean Termites need soil in order to survive, which is why you will see the tunnels ("mud tubes") along the sides of your home, because they bring the soil from the ground and keep it secure inside your home.  YES, these termites are living inside your home, where you sleep, eat, and live a comfortable life.  These Subterranean Termites will be around all-year, and we do get the calls for them on a daily basis.

A good way to protect your home is to give us a call and set up a free inspection so you can see if you have termites or not.  Remember that you can see these "mud tubes" in the walls and even on the outside of your home, and also in the concrete.  These Subterranean Termites will stop at nothing! Unless if you call MID VALLEY PEST CONTROL.

Companies will charge anywhere from $400 to $5,000 or more just to treat your home for the Subterranean Termites.  To treat this problem companies will trench, drill, and more in order to protect you from Subterranean Termites.  Did you know that they are so powerful that they can actually collapse an entire building or your home?  It's that serious.

Here at MID VALLEY PEST CONTROL, we give you a promise.  A promise that we will try to help out in any way that we can.  One way to help you, as a homeowner out, is to provide you with certain things when you do get a termite service with us:
The technician will go out to your home and provide you with a diagram where we will treat your problem, he will then give you a quote and sometimes provide you with a free pest control service
You can think about it and discuss with your family.  When you're ready, you give us a call back to our friendly Office Managers and they can set up a date that works out for you.  Now remember, you are paying money for quality service, so sometimes we can give you a 1 YEAR GUARANTEE on this termite service
Which means you can calls us back if you start to see the Subterranean Termites again on the treated areas only within the year, now here's the good part -->
After the year is over, we provide a guaranteed termite protection plan, where we will give you a call and ask if you would like a Termite Renewal.
Now by TDA law, we cannot put down any Termiticide chemical if you do not have any termites, but we still give you this Termite Renewal Plan:  You can renew for a certain price (which is ALWAYS less than what you actually paid for), and you'll be guaranteed for another year!  How awesome is that!
So if you feel you have termites, or another company has already confirmed that you have Subterranean Termites in your home, give us a try!  Remember, we do have free inspections! And we provide Termite Renewal plans after you get your termite service done :)

Give us a call at 956-383-2651, and speak to our Office Managers to schedule your free inspection and get your free quote today!

That's interesting how borescopes are used to determine and diagnose termite activity. It must be useful to use a tool that can be guided deep into foundational areas where people can't fit. My brother has a problem with termites in parts of his house, so he'll have to find some professionals to come in to find them and get rid of them

I was charged a ridiculous $3,000 for getting rid of termites. It sucks how some companies just want to rip people off.

Thanks so much for talking about different types of termites and what to expect when calling pest control. My sister has been noticing some damage to the wood in parts of her house and we want to be sure it's termites. We'll have to look into calling professionals down if it is.

I didn't know that some termites were an inch long. My kitchen might be full of termites. I'll have to hire a crew to do an inspection.
